Happy Birthday America!

July 4th was just an ordinary day, until the year 1776. We honor that day long ago, and yet not so long, when our forefathers were fighting and dying, the continental congress, as representatives of each new state, made the decision that those lives would be laid down for something greater: a new nation built upon the principle of liberty.

Let’s celebrate today not just as a holiday, but as a chance to reflect on those who sacrificed everything for the dream of an American nation founded on freedom of all people. Happy birthday to the United States of America!
